On this First Sunday of Lent, The Rev. Jeffrey Petersen begins his Lenten sermon series, “Seven Last Words.” He states, “We spend Lent this year reflecting on the seven last words Jesus spoke from the cross. These have long been a guide for reflecting on the saving work of Jesus and the culmination of his earthly ministry. We will connect the seven last words to themes in Jesus’ teaching, and their call on our lives today.” Today Rev. Petersen references Luke 23:34 for his message titled “Father, forgive them.”
