When we say that Third is “a community of Christ’s disciples,” we mean that we are committed to the life long process of learning to live and love like Jesus. We do that in community by sharing life with honesty and authenticity. Third is a church that welcomes doubt as well as faith, wonder as well as certainty, and questions as well as answers.
The mission of Adult Education is to further God’s kingdom by inspiring the spiritual growth of the adults of our congregation. Adult Education classes are designed to engage adults in exploration of their faith. The subject matter covers a wide variety of topics, including Christian living, in-depth study of Biblical passages, social issues, and current events. Classes are led by pastors, lay leaders, missionaries, and guest speakers. Classes are typically held Sunday mornings from 11:30 am – 12:15 pm following the worship service.
Short Term Small Groups
Throughout the year we pull together short term small groups that typically meet from 6-12 weeks around a book, a sermon series, or a shared interest. If you are interested in what groups are coming up, or have an idea you’d like to explore, please reach out to Olivia Stewart-Shoemaker, Pastor of Spiritual Formation!
Our Women’s Bible Study meets every Wednesday morning at 9:30am here at Third.
If you have any questions, please call the church office at 616.458.3089 and ask for Lisa Swart.
A message from our bible study leader: The foundation of Third’s Wednesday Morning Women’s Bible Study is Jesus, the Christ. Jesus is our gift from the Father. It is through Jesus we know the Holy Spirit. We focus on the truth that in obedience to the Father and because of His love for us Jesus chose the cross in order to redeem us and give us eternal life. Because of that great act of love, we are moved to study how He lived and how we are to live as sisters of Jesus and daughters of the Father. We are called to be servants and to glorify God. It is in our study that we connect as one in spirit, which sustains and strengthens us and gives us the confidence to move forward in His Name. Please come join us at 9:30 am on Wednesday morning. -Lisa
